Description:

Certified Organic by NOFA NY. We are a small, diversified, family farm located in the St Lawrence River valley. Our livestock is a concentration of heritage breeds that are raised on pasture, consuming less grain, and living more naturally. We are developing a naturally breeding turkey program. The greenhouses feature many heirloom varieties of bedding plants. We work closely with area university students to promote experiential learning and hands on immersion in small farm living. We are currently working with Seedcorn, and have formed "Friends of Bittersweet Farm" a not-for-profit division of the farm that emphasizes community support and development through hands on learning. Our products are available at the area Farmers' Markets, Nature's Storehouse, The Potsdam Food Co-op, and 1844 House Restaurant. We welcome visitors to the farm. Please call ahead.
